PakMS National Seminars

PakMS is the only mathematical society in Pakistan which is registered under the Act of Societies. This has provided the society a legalized standing, which no other mathematical organization in Pakistan has. It was thus possible for the Society to be registered with the Pakistan Science Foundation, which provides funds to the Societies registered with it.

The Society also organizes seminars, symposia, discussions, moots, workshops and round table conferences throughout the year. One of the many activities of the Society is that it organizes four seminars in mathematics, science and education in January, April, July, and October. These seminars are of national stature and members from the entire country are invited to attend these. Eminent scientists, educationists and scholars are invited to speak on topics concerning mathematics, science and education.

Although there are over 40,000 registered NGOs as well as a significant number of unregistered NGOs in Pakistan, and the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology has short-listed 680 NGOs on the basis of their activities, only 115 out of these 680 NGOs are considered to be engaged in S & T. PCST has recently published a book listing these 115 NGOs in S & T.  PakMS is the only mathematical organization that is amongst these 115 NGOs and it is ranked as one of the ten most active societies in Pakistan.
